Enough letting an anonymous website in the name of “accountability” define the narrative. The story being told right now is not the true one. The truth is in The Report.
This is the complete record of a coordinated attempt to take a nonprofit’s building. It is published by White Rock Boathouse, Inc. Every factual assertion in it is footnoted to a City of Dallas record, a court filing, an independently published news report, a domain registry record, a federal database, or the organization’s own attested and audited financial statements. Where a fact is documented, this report states it as a fact. Where a conclusion is drawn from a pattern in the documents, this report says so in those words. Nothing in this report is anonymous, and nothing in it is unsourced.
For several months, this organization, the boathouse we built, the program Dallas kids row for, the community we helped create, has been the target of an anonymous campaign designed to take it away from us. We are done being polite. We are done letting anonymous websites and misinformation define a program that has served the Dallas community for eighteen years.
The ongoing conflict and political drama do nothing to fund scholarships, maintain facilities, or put kids in boats; instead, it risks driving away essential volunteers, donors, coaches, and families.
Enough is enough. Let’s get back to rowing.

The White Rock Boathouse facilities include three buildings on the southwest shore of White Rock Lake. All of our facilities have been leased from the city, repurposed with private funds, and are managed, maintained, and administered by the staff and board of White Rock Boathouse, Inc. These facilities give the citizens of Dallas access to White Rock Lake for year-round social outings and events.
One of the largest boathouses in Texas, the facility encompasses 26,500 square feet and features three boat bays, two docks for launching and receiving vessels, and restrooms, showers, and changing areas. It houses over 120 racing shells from four rowing programs—White Rock, SMU, Jesuit Preparatory, and Ursuline Academy—and maintains daily operations from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Located at the southwest shore of White Rock Lake with beautiful terraces and sweeping views, The Filter Building features exposed red brick walls and original iron trusses. The Filter Building is a perfect venue site for weddings, business meetings, reunions, parties, and more. Proceeds from The Filter Building provide income for White Rock Rowing’s juniors programs to offset the costs for every participant.
The Historic Boomerang is a 1930s Art Deco boathouse repurposed in 2003. Blending architectural charm with functionality, it features covered docks designed especially for coach launches. The facility also offers convenient, fee-based storage for kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards, making it a central hub for both competitive rowing and casual paddling enthusiasts while preserving a unique piece of the city’s waterfront heritage.

White Rock Historic Spotlight
At the turn of the century, the southwest corner of White Rock Lake was neglected, with the historic T & P Boathouse in ruins and nearby structures deteriorating. In 2003, White Rock Boathouse, Inc. partnered with local agencies to revitalize the area. With $2.7 million in private funding, key buildings were restored and repurposed, including event space and storage facilities. The project culminated in the construction of a 26,500-square-foot, state-of-the-art boathouse, creating a premier destination for recreation and community use.
